This was an interesting (and amazing) year especially for acting in film. Never have we had (at least in this century) such a problem with predicting the men's lead acting category, and I feel that the lead actress field is yet to give us surprises.
I am not posting my top ten films of the year, having not seen a couple of the important ones. But I can say that I saw "12 Years a Slave" recently and it is breathtaking. Each scene fills with the sorrow and exhaustion that the main character must feel which makes and incredible connection between us.
That said both director Steve McQueen as well as the picture itself will stay on the top of their categories.
So the only actual thing I'm going to do today is update the Race Leaderboard.
